It's a good thing that my iPhone tells me what day I took pictures and stuff.
Looks like last Thursday I got out to ride, and April rolled up on me whilst I was fiddling with my drooper post... and then Brent rolled up on April rolling up on me... and because I see him every day (it seems), Donald from Bike Source came by as well.
"Member frands?"
"Member bike racing?"
"I member."
And then we had a good laugh.
Saturday, in between draining puddles and halping build big jamps, I cut a pine tree off the trail... and stacked it to the side because...
When a tree falls on a trail in Charlotte...
meme cred: Bryan Hall
Bill Nye and Danger swung by and stood around and then Bill Nye hit the jump we built over a hole in the ground... last week? Not shown: Bill Nye. Casing it. Twice.
And then we all had a good laugh.
Member when I posted the photo of the crazy tree that did a half-ass job falling across the trail in three different places?
Santana and Hubbs did the gorb's work and got it down, but a gargantuan, hundreds of pounds worth of former tree was stuck in the trail.
I asked my little friends if they would be willing to stop on our ride and make it go away.
It was an interesting endeavor, grabbing home grown implements and trying to remember just how Egyptians built the pyramids (other than just throwing slaves at the problem).
Despite not having any olive oil to lube our roller bits, we made trail fairy dust magic that day.
Mills peed on the hunk of wood when we were done.
And then we all had a good laugh.
That night, we celebrated Pester's five year anniversary of moving into our house. Blind, diabetic... slightly chubby... and not expected to live anywhere near this long.
On the Quality of Life Scale for Pets, he's like a 75 (outta 80). The Pie says that I'm only hitting the high 40s.
And then Pester and The Pie had a good laugh. I did not.
On Monday, I knocked out the final household pandemic goal of organizing the washer/dryer closet. As a reward, Bill Nye and I rode to the end of the greenway, and then back to the house to grab a beer, and then ride back down to the end of the greenway...
Because, when the trails are closed and the closets are all organized and your wife still works like a normal hooman person... greenway.
On the way back home, I found this flannel shirt in the street.
It's not often that a person four apples tall finds a ground score shirt that fits. I figure I'll wear it around until someone says "Hey, that's my shirt," and I'll say "Prove it."
And then we'll both get a good laugh.
Member laughing?
I member.

Apart from the skinny tires, I am now of the opinion that your Bystickel, with rigid steel fork, is the best looking bike in your "quiver". Makes me want a steel SS!
There's a very real chance that next week it will have fat tires again. It's getting very little bar bike action, and I could use something a little more low key to get back into the woods to do trail work.
