Wish and Shit, Two Hands Full

We said we wouldn't do it again after last year, but it looks like the West and Also Other Virginia Trip Part II is on... pending weather checks and assorted other nonsense.

You remember last year?  Started with a not so great trail because it was on our way just off I77, stopped in Fayetteville to spend the night, shuttled the North Fork Mountain Trail... and broke like a million spokes when I took a stick in my rear wheel at a million miles an hour....

headed to Snowshoe only to get rained out of the lifts and trails, drove over the the Shenandoah 100 where we went on a peanut butter shit-fest ride...

and the day of the race, we jumped in the Take Aim sprinter, brought the "party" to Aid Station 5... and then headed home.

If you're adding up quality rides we went on... I think it was something like -2.

So why not go back again?

I'm doing everything I can to keep my enthusiasm in check.  We're really, really, really hoping to get some lift runs in on Friday.  Like an entire day of lift runs.  Mebbe wake up Friday and ride the XC stuff or head over to Stokesville and hit Trimble and Lookout or something.  Then to earn our keep, ride out to Aid Station 5 (if we must) on Sunday using the road that hopefully won't be peanut butter a whole year later.  Wake up Monday, and if our heads aren't too clouded, hit some riding at Carvin's Cove in Roanoke.

But...

If the weather is pure shit up that way, we might just scrap it all and head in a southerly direction.  Of course, assuming the weather isn't shit that way too.

Man, I miss traveling out west where the air is dry and the trails are high.
